It Begins With Us!
I’m running for Vallejo City Council District 1 because I believe in the strength of our community and our power to create meaningful change. As a husband, father, son, and neighbor who has called Vallejo home for nearly a decade, I deeply value what makes our city unique in the Bay Area. I know Vallejo has the potential for everyone to thrive, but to achieve that, we must uplift our community through action, not just words. I’m running for office to be your voice in City Hall.
I’m honored to have the support of a broad coalition, including the Solano County Democratic Party, the Sierra Club, the Vallejo Chamber of Commerce, the Central Labor Council and North Bay Building Trades Council, Solano Association of Realtors, IAFF Local 1186 Firefighters, as well as appointed and elected officials, organizations, and community leaders across Vallejo. Join our movement today and be a part of the change we so desperately need to see in Vallejo.
I first decided to seek the position of Councilmember for District 1 in April 2020 after witnessing the slow pace of change in addressing public safety and implementing the much-needed reforms in our Police Department. Although I didn’t win that race, I gained invaluable experience, built my confidence as a leader, and discovered my true passion: serving the community.
Today, I proudly serve as President of Vallejo Main Street, an organization dedicated to revitalizing our historic downtown. I also hold the position of Chairman of Vallejo’s Code Enforcement Appeals Board and recently completed a term as Chairman of Vallejo’s Economic Development Commission. I got to work because Vallejo can’t afford to wait any longer for solutions. As a consensus builder, I have partnered with individuals across our city to drive progress.
For years, City Hall has made promises while our quality of life has declined. Crime remains a persistent issue, and VPD’s pace of much needed reforms is unacceptable. Roads continue to go years without maintenance creating hazards for our kids and seniors, and local small businesses continue to face headwinds post-pandemic. And we continue to inadequately address how to best support our neighbors experiencing homelessness and the impacts on them and the city.
I know that with hard work, perseverance, and commitment to each other, we can solve our city’s problems. You deserve a leader who is committed to serving you, your family and our entire community. That’s why I am running this year for Council to be a champion our community can believe in and count on.
